Types of Coverage

Health insurance plans come in all shapes and sizes. That's why it's important to assess your needs before you choose an insurance plan. Some insurance plans cover a wide range of services while others are more limited insurance plans that cover specific services, for example, a hospitalization-only insurance plan. Insurance plans can also provide varying lengths of coverage. Some policies are provided in one-year increments, however, short-term insurance plans are also available for people who are looking to fill a gap in coverage.

Aside from medical coverage, some health insurance plans offer coverage for additional services such as dental coverage, prescription drug coverage and vision coverage. These services are not automatically covered in all insurance plans, so it's important to check your insurance plan if you need these services.
